Save Our Waterfront becomes Save Our Coastline

CATELLUS EAST
Open Window on the Bay

The future of Monterey's waterfront and the Catellus sites is in limbo.  For the last two years the City has been stuck in planning mode with no end in sight.

A recent traffic study/plan for the Downtown area proposed rerouting some Del Monte Avenue traffic through the waterfront. With all of the waterfront planning activities, there has been no inclusion of new or revised uses of Fisherman's Wharf, a key component of the waterfront.

Meanwhile West Catellus is being used by PG&E to construct an undergournd dam to prevent further progress of an underground plume of bad stuff from reaching the bay.

Watch this site for calls to action. Without citizen action (bothj residents and visitors) the waterfront and Window on the Bay willl stay cluttered with commercial operations.  Monterey deserves better!
