5 years out!
Tomorrow it will be five years since my last prostate radiation treatment.  And I am still kicking smile

On the right is my complete PSA history.  You can see that my PSA has been bumping along between 0 and 1 since January of 2002 due first to Luperon and then radiation.

The second graph is the same data but limited to those tests done since radiation, the first one in November of 2002 and the most recent one in August of 2007.

Just for the heck of it I put a linear trend line through this detailed post radiation data (the straight black line) and derived the formula for the trend shown just above the graph.  Using this formula my PSA should double in about 44 years. Thus my PSA velocity is nothing to worry about.  If I live to my maternal grandfathers age of 92 my PSA should be about 1.05 at that time. Not to worry!

Note, the two data points above 0.6 are both from tests where I rode my bike to the lab.  It seems that riding a bike temporarily raises ones PSA.  So be aware if you are about to be tested.

My next trip to the doc will be in January when I see Shaheen (urologist) for my annual check. I saw Glover (radiation oncologist) in August for my annual prostate progress check and he is managing the current nose radiation program.

Nose radiationNose program
Well it seems that I have a basel cell cancer in the tip of my nose.  Surgery is said to be tricky in this area and I had good luck with radiation back in '01 on my nose and ear. So here I am back in the face radiation suite with Julie (who is now the supervisor).

I am to get 10 treatments on the tip of my nose.  I have had two so far and go every day the week of October 22 and two days beginning October 29.

The last picture is the set up, ready for radiation .
I am ready for Halloween for sure!

What Nose Program
I have missed a few meetings. However, I remain an active participant as a group Board member, group webmaster, and occasional videographer of special meetings. Meetings are always informative!

The setupIf you are in town on a first Wednesday of the month, plan on going to the Group meeting they are full of information and you can meet some great people!
