CATELLUS EAST

Catellus property map 2 a &3b 4 1 The City purchased the east Catellus parcel for $3,960,000 in 2002. While planning the ultimate use of this property has not been completed, some some public access is possible

These photos of east parcel (see the photo numbers on the map to the left) illustrate the current public points of access.

This parcel includes a very nice stretch of sheltered beach.  A great place to launch a kayak or for playing in the water or sunbathing.   But public use in sometimes restricted by the commercial tenants.

Monterey city beach 1. This is a view of the Monterey City beach. The green building is the "Scout House." The building is leased to Adventures by the Sea, a private commercial operator who uses the building and the adjacent public beach for private events.

Monterey city beach2. This view is looking due east along the beach. The pile of sand in the foreground and extending toward the Scout House has been pushed up to prevent winter storm surge from flooding Del Monte Avenue. You won't find this dune in the summer
