The top picture is looking North and includes Point Pinos, the rocky outcrop. to the left of center. The middle picture is looking South, that's the Pacific Ocean on the right. The bottom picture is looking East and in the center is the Point Pinos lighthouse.

In the middle of the picture above is the Point Pinos lighthouse. As as you can see, on this overcast day, it is still lighted. Point Pinos has been the site of many a ship wreck. Some pictures are on display in the Maritime Museum near Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey (on this trail)
